Epworth
The Old Rectory
The birthplace of John and Charles Wesley, "the Old Rectory" was rebuilt in 1709 after a fire (from which the young John Wesley was rescued) had destroyed the earlier house. The home was restored by the World Methodist Council in 1956, and is now open to the public.
Oxford
Christ Church and Lincoln College
In Oxford, visit Christ Church College and Cathedral where John and Charles Wesley were undergraduates. Or, tour Lincoln College, where Methodism originated in the 18th century, when John Wesley founded the Holy Club. See the John Wesley memorial room and the College Chapel. Other sites, such as the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin where Wesley preached, can also be visited.
Bristol
The New Room
The oldest Methodist building in the world, the "New Room" was built in 1739. Restored in 1929, it retains much of the atmosphere of the 18th century. Above the chapel, are the preachers' rooms. Nearby is the Georgian house where Charles Wesley and his family lived, now a Heritage Center open to visitors. Tour the home where Charles wrote some of his 7,000 hymns.
London
Wesley' Chapel and House
Trace the Evolution of the Methodist movement at the Museum of Methodism and tour the house that contains many items associated with John Wesley. Also around City Road are many places meaningful to Wesley, such as his mother's grave in the Bunhill Fields burial ground and the buildings of Charterhouse where he went to school. At Aldersgate Street, see the 'Aldersgate Flame' memorial, commemorating the place where Wesley experienced his 'conversion' in May 1738.

The Tercentenary Celebration
John Wesley was born on June 17, 1703 ('old style' calendar – or June 28 in the 'new style' calendar after 1752). His birthplace was Epworth in Lincolnshire. He was a renowned preacher and spiritual leader of the "Methodist Revival."
The occasion of the tercentenary of John Wesley's birth offers the Church a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the life of one of the most influential personalities in its history!
